Riding ATVs is one of the most exciting activities that the Androscoggin Valley has to offer. Explore our 1,400+ mile interconnected trail system, Ride the Wilds, which offers three seasons of ATV riding. The interconnected trails make it possible to head out for a day or more without trailering your machine from one location to another. Androscoggin Valley is the Southeast Portal of the trail system, offering access to riding areas in the ATV-friendly towns of Berlin, Gorham, Milan, and Success.
Located just outside the communities of Gorham and Berlin, Jericho Mountain State Park is a great place to start your ATV adventure. The Ride the Wilds Corridor trail runs through the park and then heads north through Success. Along this section of trail, there are spectacular views to the south looking at the Presidential Range of the White Mountains. WORLD CLASS HIKING AT OUR DOOR STEP
The White Mountains are the perfect destination for adventurous couples and outdoor enthusiasts. There are a variety of hikes in the White Mountains, accessible to hikers of all levels. You can find short trails and loops that lead to pretty waterfalls and scenic overlooks, as well as longer and more grueling hikes to scenic vistas and mountain summits. To help make your planning easier, we’ve put together a short guide to what we consider 5 of the best hikes in our area. You can’t go wrong with any of them (or really, any others you may find as well). Each of them offers incredible scenery.
The 4,000 footers are a group of 67 mountains in New England, most of which are in the White Mountains, established by the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC). The sport of Peak Bagging attracts hikers of all kinds to come to the White Mountains with a goal of hiking all the New England 4,000 footers (or just the 48 in New Hampshire). Rather than hiking up and down one mountain, Peak Bagging involves an attempt to reach the summit of multiple mountains in one hike, and the White Mountains is an excellent area to partake in this sport.
